Single point of access: The TM Repository collects all your translation memory data in a single database, while retaining their boundaries by enriching each and every translation unit with attributes.
Flexible meta-data: All contents you import into TM Repository can be fitted with any number of meta-data fields. First, you set up your meta-data fields in TM Repository, and you can then use these fields to tag the contents you load. This makes resources from different sources comparable: once you have your scheme to categorize your data, it is easy to apply these categories to all data you create or receive.
Updates: You can start a project by querying the database, and downloading the results in a TMX file. Once you have an updated version of this TMX file (through a translation job or reviewing), you can update the TM Repository database in a single operation. TM Repository will know what to update and what to add.
Version control: When you update the database, TM Repository keeps the earlier versions of the translation units that are updated. You can always undo – roll back – an update or an import operation. This makes you completely safe from introducing mistagged or poor-quality content in your database by mistake.
Scalability: TM Repository is designed to work with tens or hundreds of millions of translation units in a single database, potentially with up to a hundred different types of meta-data fields.
Note: TM Repository uses Microsoft SQL Server in the data tier. The amount of data you can store and the performance you can attain depends heavily on the version and edition of SQL Server, and your hardware specifications.
Web interface: TM Repository features a web-based user interface that makes it easy to administer and query.
Text search: TM Repository allows for concordance searches from the web-based user interface. Search results are presented similarly to results of ’ordinary’ queries.
Maintenance: TM Repository can perform batch operations such as searching and replacing meta-data fields on the results of any query.
