TM Repository

TM Repository is a concise and efficient translation memory management system. Using TM Repository, companies, language service providers, institutions, and other organizations can have full control over the materials they have translated over the years, as well as the materials they are about to translate in the future. With TM Repository, organizations can access all relevant translation memory contents at all times, and keep track of the changes, updates, and usage of each translation unit in the database.

TM Repository builds a single large database of all translation memories, creating a single point of access and accumulation of translation data throughout the organization. Different parts and sections of the database can still be recognized and retrieved because the TM Repository enriches translation memory contents with various attributes such as the name of the client, the project, or the document. You can also use quality indicators such as confidence level or approval status.

The TM Repository gives your organization maximum control over translation assets. It also offers the most efficient leverage both in terms of coverage and accuracy: based on the properties of your project, you will get all relevant content, and unnecessary translation units are kept to a minimum. Using TM Repository, translation organizations can get maximum savings from their translation memories.

You need TM Repository if:

• you have a large amount of translation memory units and you cannot decide if you want to store this in one large translation memory for leverage or multiple smaller translation memories for maintenance purposes,
• you want to train a statistical machine translation engine,
• you want to create new content by using relay language translation (e.g. EN-JP and EN-DE -> DE-JP),

TM Repository is not a translation memory server, i.e. it does not allow you real-time lookup from documents. TM Repository has a concordance feature but does not offer fuzzy matching. TM Repository is the single large database that can accommodate and manage millions and millions of translation units and offer the pertinent units for any translation job.
