Joining the Academic Programme
Academic Programme members
Kilgray feels strongly that students studying translation and translation technology should have access to state of the art translation technology. Our Academic Programme allows every student to have the latest version of memoQ. Join our programme. You will find it useful and educational with surprisingly little bureaucracy!
The main purpose of the Kilgray Academic Programme is that it gives the Institution the right to use an unlimited number of memoQ licenses for educational purposes, free of charge.
This includes the memoQ server and ELM (Enterprise License Management). The programme is not confined to translator training only and can cover any translation, engineering, science or arts course. The institution can give licenses to teachers and students for (educational) home use for up to one year at a time.
The main provisions of the Academic Programme are:
- Educational institutions can use an unlimited number of memoQ licenses for educational purposes, free of charge. This includes the memoQ server and mobile licenses too, so that the institution can control the internal licensing of the software. Educational use is not restricted to translator training -- educational use covers any translation, engineering, science or arts course. The institution has no obligations other than announcing the sponsorship of Kilgray/memoQ on their website.
- The institution can give extra licenses to instructors/students for (educational) home use for up to one year at a time.
- The institutions can purchase up to 10 licenses of memoQ translator pro (or the most advanced desktop edition) for their own business purposes at the price of €100. Beyond that, an individual purchase agreement is necessary.
- Support does not come for free: it costs €100 in each month when a support case is reported. If the support in a month exceeds 4 hours, a fee of €50/hour is charged for the excess hours. We do server installation and license management setup for €150/install session.
To request the free educational licenses, universities or other educational institutions may contact Peter Reynolds at peter.reynolds@kilgray.com.
