Great, great, great CAT! I simply love it. I have been using it with no exceptions since then. Maybe the most translator-friendly CAT on the market!
memoQ 4 does this better than any other CAT software I know...
I don't expect from a good CAT tool to do the translation work for me. That's still my job. The tool's job is to save me from having to perform the same routine tasks over and over again. It should help me to organize and maintain all available resources and leverage them in the best possible way for a given project. memoQ 4 does this better than any other CAT software I know.
When we looked for a CAT tool that could handle complex files and project demands, satisfy our technical needs yet be simple enough for the translators and above all offer on-demand support, memoQ came out tops.
As a long-standing user of 9 major CAT tools as well as being a Certified Trainer for one of the major ones, I use a harsh criteria list when adopting new tools. We have been using the server version of memoQ for just under a year and it is definitely my tool of choice for complex projects. memoQ is easy to use both for project managers and translators, yet it boasts the power to keep even the real tech savvy happy.
Our latest project was just over 500,000 words that involved 8 translators all in different locations. The project and file formats were testing for everyone on the backend of the project but our main goal was to not let that affect the translators. We wanted the translators to focus on the translation and not have to worry about technical setbacks and this was achieved with memoQ.
memoQ’s support team were always on standby to assist the project manager/engineer with a response time faster than any other CAT tool vendor we have worked with. This definitely added to the success of the project. I am not referring to auto-replies saying that my support request has been received; I am referring to real-time dedicated support from a team that understands that we have a deadline.

After one day of using Studio 2009, I felt exhausted of clicking all over the place and using wizard after wizard for the basic things, and cannot help thinking that SDL lost contact with my daily work as a translator and team manager. I love the efficient, clear, and flexible workflow we enjoy with memoQ in so many senses.
I've been using memoQ regularly since downloading the trial version a few days ago. I've already decided to make the switch (from SDLX), and was particularly impressed that the one bug I had noticed in the version I downloaded - a problem with the spellchecker - has already been fixed with an update!
memoQ: it's like playing a video game in permanent cheat mode.
I have now been working with memoQ server through the Internet for a week, as I am away from our office.
The internet connection where I am now is not very steady, it fluctuates from 1.5 Mb to just less than 100 kb, but still I must say that I haven't had a slightest problem with the server connection and actually, I don't see any difference between working through the internet and working through LAN in our office.
I haven't regretted my decision to get memoQ - it's already paid for itself four times over - in just five weeks.
